Design & Technology

Please note that all of our information and student resources can be found on our dedicated Art, Design and Technology website Here

All pupils study a broad range of Design and Technology by exploring a range of materials, skills and techniques. This is then built upon at GCSE where they have the opportunity to study one of two material areas in more detail. At Key Stage 3 and 4 they have 3 hours of lessons a week. We want to develop learners to become confident experimenters, critical analysts and adaptable designers considering the changing environment and technological world.

Studying Design and Technology allows the creative to explore ideas, develop skills and question design from the past, present and the future. In an ever-changing world, design and technology opens up a world of endless opportunities, to be able to imagine the unimaginable. We want every single one of our pupils to be confident explorers, who can be inspired by the world around them and through design have a positive impact on society and our environment.
